Training for Professionals

Since 2007, I have been a co-instructor at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis for 2 three-hour courses.  The fall course is “Theories and Practice of Family Therapy.”  The spring course is “Intervention Approaches for Treating Couples.”  This instruction is ongoing.

Since the fall of 1999, I have provided the “Reading and Videotape Seminar.”  In this program we watch DVDs of the work of experts in marriage and family therapy, as well as reading their books.  Discussion is focused on understanding the theory and applying the concepts to clinical practice.

From 1995 – 2005, I was a clinical faculty supervisor for Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry.  I provided supervision to residents around family therapy practice.

Since 1987, I have been on the faculty of two formal family therapy training centers in St. Louis: The Family Therapy Institute, 1987-1990; and Menninger, 1990-2001.  I have provided didactic course work and group supervision on a weekly basis in accordance with AAMFT standards.

I provided clinical and training services to families, couples, individuals, and professionals.
